Winter hiking trail Galtwiesen

From the Galtwiesen parking lot, you can trudge through the snow and enjoy nature. The hike takes around 45 minutes and takes you past the Waldeck snack station to the hamlet of Krabichl in Leins.

A winter fairytale on ice: discover the magic of ice skating

The ice rink at the Piller fish pond in Wenns also enchants its visitors. Every day except Monday, the idyllic ice rink invites you to glide elegantly over the ice under the expert guidance of Willi Hairer. With a symbolic rental fee of just €1 for the ice skates, nothing stands in the way of winter fun.

Another winter wonder unfolds at Lake Stillebach. During the cold months, this place becomes a stage for ice sports, where ice skating and curling under the starry sky become an unforgettable experience. Floodlights and music accompany these nocturnal hours until 11 p.m., while skate hire offers the opportunity to immerse yourself in this nocturnal adventure for just 5.00 euros.

Mountain Camp Pitztal in Jerzens also awakens the magic of winter. Surrounded by the majestic mountain scenery, you can experience ice skating free of charge every day from 4 pm, except Tuesdays. The sparkling ice rink awaits you.

Cross-country skiing for those with stamina

Experience the incomparable tranquillity of the winter landscape while cross-country skiing on the excellently groomed trails of the Pitztal. The region offers a multitude of opportunities to explore the snow-covered nature. With a total of 70 kilometers, the Pitztal offers an extensive network of cross-country ski trails that allow you to traverse the region on various routes.

Galtwiesen cross-country ski trail

The Galtwiesen trail is perfectly groomed when there is enough snow to guarantee you a relaxed and unforgettable cross-country skiing experience. Start your adventure at the easily accessible Galtwiesen parking lot, which is also the starting point of the trail. Both skating and classic cross-country skiing techniques are available to you here, so you can tailor your cross-country skiing to suit your individual needs.

With an ascent of just 30 meters and a total length of 2.6 kilometers, the Galtwiesen trail is ideal for cross-country skiers of all levels of experience. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced cross-country skier, this trail offers the perfect terrain for everyone to enjoy the beautiful winter landscape.

Jerzens Fischteich cross-country ski trail

Immerse yourself in the winter landscape around the fish pond in Jerzens. The skating trail starts right next to the Pitztal country road and initially runs along the Pitze to the ascent to Kienberg. The trail meanders in several loops through the picturesque landscape, past numerous hay barns, and the Fischteich restaurant invites you to enjoy a leisurely snack in a pleasant atmosphere.

Cross-country skiing center Kaunergrat Nature Park

The cross-country skiing center in the Kaunergrat Nature Park offers a variety of trails that lead through the impressive nature of the park. Cross-country skiing enthusiasts get their money's worth here.

For beginners, the Race Center Benni Raich, under the direction of Alfred Schrott in Jerzens, offers taster courses. Take the opportunity to improve your cross-country skiing technique and deepen your enjoyment of winter sports.

Please note that the conditions of the trails depend on the current snow conditions. However, the perfectly groomed trails allow you to enjoy carefree cross-country skiing amidst the wintry scenery.

Frozen waterfalls and icy adventures

Ice climbing courses for beginners

Every Tuesday, you have the exciting opportunity to try out ice climbing in the impressive Taschach Gorge. Once you have fitted your crampons, you will be immersed in a breathtaking landscape in just a few steps. Here you have the opportunity to learn how to use the right equipment for climbing on steep ice in a fun way.

The event lasts around 3 hours and takes place from 09:00 to 12:00. The meeting point is at 09:00 at the Gletscherexpress valley station. The cost is 80.00 euros per person, provided there are 4 to 6 participants. This is a great opportunity to experience the fascination of ice climbing in one of the most beautiful gorges. Join us and be inspired by this unique experience.

Climbing for advanced climbers

Advanced climbers will find a variety of ice climbing routes in the Tyrolean Pitztal. The most spectacular routes include icefalls with heights of up to 190 meters, some of which can be easily reached via a short ascent from the Pitztal. Athletes will find Tyrol's highest ice climbing route in the impressive Pitzaler Glacier ice world. Here, six ice waterfalls offer a breathtaking ice climbing experience amidst eternal ice and snow. Ice climbing is possible all year round in some places.

Night tobogganing on the Hochzeiger

With a length of around 6 kilometers, this exciting toboggan run stretches from the Hochzeiger middle station to Kaitanger and Liss. The location is simply magical and offers an incomparable view of the snow-covered mountains of the Pitztal.

The Hochzeiger toboggan run is open daily from 09:00 to 17:00, so you and your family can enjoy tobogganing fun at any time of day. Every Thursday you have the opportunity to experience an unforgettable tobogganing evening. The toboggan run is also open in the evening, from 19:30 to 24:00. An adventure that will not only delight the children.

Natural toboggan run in Arzl

The natural toboggan run in Arzl offers pure tobogganing fun over a distance of around 1.7 kilometers. Although the toboggan run is not floodlit, it is surrounded by natural beauty. It stretches from the charming village center of Arzl towards Imsterberg and promises an unforgettable adventure in the middle of the Tyrolean Alps. Dive in and enjoy the descent on this idyllic natural toboggan run.

Toboggan runs in Wenns

The Piller natural toboggan run stretches over a distance of around 1.5 kilometers and starts at the fish pond in Piller. Tobogganing enthusiasts can hire toboggans here for a price of 2.00 euros. Please note that Mondays and Tuesdays are closed days, but during the Christmas and carnival vacations, only Mondays are closed. For a special experience, you can also request lighting for the toboggan run, which is provided by Wilfried Hairer at the Piller fish pond. The toboggan run is illuminated on Thursdays from 20:00 to 22:00.

Another exciting option is the Gogles Alm natural toboggan run, which runs over a generous length of around 5 kilometers. To make tobogganing easier, you can hire toboggans on site. Enjoy the tobogganing fun and the breathtaking scenery on the Gogles Alm!

Cross-country skiing and winter hiking bus Pitztal

Take advantage of the opportunity to take the bus to the Nature Park House every Tuesday and Thursday until February 22.
